The first event of the season, the Défi métropolitain is for those of you who like to ride and who, depending on your form and mood of the day, can choose to go easy or light on a non-timed course of between 49 and 157 kilometers. Each year, the event visits a new corner of the greater metropolitan area.
This year, we look forward to seeing you on May 25, 2025, starting from Brossard in the Montérégie region.
Vélo Québec’s Défi métropolitain is back in 2025 with an edition full of energy and discoveries! Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or a fan of scenic rides, it’s the perfect event to kick off the season. Several routes, suitable for all levels, will take you through the beautiful landscapes of the Greater Montreal area.
Join us on May 25, 2025, starting from Brossard in Montérégie, for the next edition of the Metropolitan Challenge.
Montérégie at your own pace, without a stopwatch! Between 49 and 157 km of pure pleasure, in a variety of landscapes. Departing from Brossard, we’ll ride to Chambly, then Saint-Jacques-le-Mineur, before returning via Saint-Mathieu and Candiac.

By participating in Festival Go vélo Montréal events (Défi métropolitain, Tour la Nuit, Tour de l’Île de Montréal), you consent to Vélo Québec, Festival partners and the media attending these events capturing images of you that may be used to promote and broadcast the Festival in all its forms (photos, videos, multiplatform media, etc.).

Note: Expect a reception delay of a week after the mailing date. For online registration made after the date of the last mailing, the documents can be collected at La Maison des cyclistes (until the day previous to the event) or at the starting point (the morning of the event).
